A Suspect Has Ben Arrested In relation to the Griffin United Bank Robbery He is Identified as Don Wayne Johnson.  He is also suspected of at least two other Bank Robberies in Georgia.

 


The suspect in the January 21, 2010 robbery of the United Bank Northside branch in Griffin; the January 25, 2010 robbery of the Piedmont Community Bank in Forsyth, Georgia; and the January 31, 2010 robbery of the SunTrust Bank in Brunswick, Georgia has been arrested in Griffin. 28-year-old Don Wayne Johnson of 310 Pyles Marsh Road, Brunswick was arrested Friday by investigators with the Griffin Police Department (GPD) and Deputy Marshals with the United States Marshal Service (USMS).  

A look out was placed on Johnson by use of Nixle and the media. Through the exhaustive detective work of the Sgt. Richard Phillips, other Griffin investigators, and the resources of the USMS; Johnson was apprehended quickly.  

Johnson is currently in the Spalding County Jail is being charged with Robbery. It is possible that he could face federal prosecution.
